All 3 sections of the 1st Crowmarsh Gifford Scouts meet on Mondays in the Village Hall.
We are very fortunate to be based in a village nestled between the river Thames and the Chilterns, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Using the space of the hall, the surrounding hall grounds or the natural environment available on our doorstep, we plan activities with a strong community focus.
It is not unusual to see us volunteering at local events such as the Bonfire, Remembrance Sunday and St. George’s Day to name a few.
With strong regional connections, we are able to link up with other village units for activities and to share skills.
We are so lucky not just for where we live, but for the volunteers that work to run our scouting sections so brilliantly.
All these amazing experiences that the children have, are supported by funding.
Our unit partakes in the traditional Scout led fundraising activities. The leaders work with the children to help raise funds throughout the year so that they learn the value of money in addition to having these incredible opportunities.
We also look to our parent and carer community for supporting the children to have these experiences with the help of funding through signing up to Gift Aid.
For all scouting families that Join Crowmarsh we ask that you opt in to the government Gift Aid Scheme.
This scheme means that we get 25 pence for every pound that is donated, and this includes the membership fees that you pay for your child.
It costs you nothing, and only requires you to select the Gift Aid menu item in your OSM account to make sure the declaration is set up.
When we are not out and about on activities, our weekly meetings take place at the Crowmarsh Village Hall.
